Hey foodies!
If you’re in Singapore and craving a cold Korean noodle dish for hot days, I’ve got a new favorite to share — the Gwanghwamun Mijin Korean Style Bibim Soba from Market Kurly on RedMart. I tried the bibim (spicy mixed) version this time, and honestly, I loved it way more than the soup one!
What’s inside?
It’s a 2-serving pack with:
- 2 bundles of buckwheat noodles
- 2 packets of spicy sauce
- Garnish (seaweed flakes + sesame seeds)
- 2 small packets of sesame oil
How to cook it right:
Boil the noodles in about 1 liter of water for 3–4 minutes. Make sure to stir gently with chopsticks as soon as they go in — or they’ll clump together!
Pro tip: the water can overflow, so keep some cold water on hand and pour in a bit when it starts bubbling over. After cooking, rinse the noodles in cold water (I even added ice for extra chill vibes). Then, mix in all the ingredients — I also added a boiled egg for the perfect touch!
One tip: The sauce is quite salty, so I recommend starting with half the packet, mixing, and adding more to taste.
Verdict?
I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5! Light, spicy, refreshing, and super easy to make. I definitely prefer this over the soup version, which had a strong katsuobushi (bonito) flavour.
